It was in the Museum of Fine Arts of Ghent that the young Vandenberg was for the first time immersed in art history. During Visite his own oeuvre stood in dialogue with the works of the Old Masters. The catalog offers a thorough documentation of the creation of the exhibition and its presentation within the context of the museum, illustrated with photographs of the artist in his studio and reproductions of his oeuvre in juxtaposition with works by, among others, Théodore Géricault, Hieronymus Bosch and Gustave Permeke. Visite is edited by Anja De Lannoy, with forewords by Robert Hoozee (Museum of Fine Arts, Ghent) and Jan van Woensel and Niels Van Tomme (De Appel Arts Centre, Amsterdam), and contains a transcriptions of a conversation between Bernard Dewulf and Philippe Vandenberg.
