L'oggetto di questo volume è la tomba di Maiherperi (KV 36), scoperta dall'egittologo Victor Loret nel 1899. Lo studio è ampiamente basato sulla documentazione d'archivio raccolta da Loret durante le sue campagne di scavo nella Valle dei Re, oggi divisa tra l'Università degli Studi di Milano, l'Institut de France di Parigi e l'Institut Victor Loret di Lione. La tomba di Maiherperi ha restituito un corredo funerario praticamente intatto. La KV 36 non era stata ancora oggetto di una monografia nonostante l'autore avesse per primo pubblicato nel 2004 molti dei documenti che riguardano la sua scoperta. Tale documentazione, per lungo tempo ritenuta scomparsa o mai esista, è presentata in una veste nuova e alla luce di recenti pubblicazioni che, assieme a un suo riesame capillare, hanno permesso di approfondire e allo stesso tempo di rivedere numerosi punti di vista già acquisiti.

Howard Carter was an English archaeologist & Egyptologist, now renowned for discovering the tomb of the pharaoh Tutankhamun. Published between 1923 & 1933, this three-volume study contains Carter's detailed account of the sensational discovery, excavation & clearance of Tutankhamun's tomb & its treasures. The tomb was almost fully intact when discovered & remains the most complete burial discovered in the Valley of the Kings. Each volume of Carter's book is richly illustrated with over 100 photographs of the tomb & objects found in it, showing their original state & how they appeared after reconstruction.
