Comment les soins donnés et reçus au domicile des personnes « démentes » (malades d'Alzheimer et de troubles apparentés) sont-ils vécus par celles-ci, les proches et les professionnelles qui en prennent soin ? Quelles formes prend leur expérience, selon la diversité des configurations soignantes ? Quelle portée politique a-t-elle ? Qu'est-ce qui la favorise ? Pour répondre à ces questions, l'auteure a mené une enquête ethnographique durant sept années au domicile de personnes « démentes », dans des centres de soins de jours et dans des collectifs en dehors du face à face quotidien. Dans la première partie de l'ouvrage, les récits issus de l'enquête suivent le fil du soin, la fragilité de celles et ceux qu'il relie, le temps qu'il exige et qui parfois permet d'accorder personnes soignantes et soignées. Par une présence de longue durée au domicile, le nombre et la variété des situations suivies, une attention sensible aux personnes malades, plus difficiles à rejoindre, l'auteure donne accès à l'expérience du soin de tou·te·s ses protagonistes. Elle élabore à partir d'elle les questions morales et politiques qui sont en jeu, trop peu présentes dans nos espaces publics, en s'inspirant de l'approche pragmatiste de J.Dewey. Dans la seconde partie du livre, l'enquête se poursuit dans des lieux permettant une élaboration morale et politique du soin à ses protagonistes : réunions de professionnel·le·s sous différentes formes, temps de parole et de formation offertes par des associations du champ spirituel à des bénévoles et des soignant·e·s ou groupe de travail politique des personnes malades elles-mêmes. Dans quelle mesure ces espaces favorisent-ils la contribution de chacun·e aux soins donnés et reçus, soutenant ainsi le développement d'un soin démocratique ? Il y a encore quinze ans, parler d'analyse des pratiques en travail social était rare. Aujourd'hui, bien des institutions se dotent de supervision ou d'analyse des pratiques. Ces outils modernes sont reconnus aujourd'hui pour leur contribution à la santé d'institutions qui, prenant en charge des publics très en difficulté, voient souvent les professionnels qui y travaillent affectés dans leur santé psychique, atteints dans leur compétence. Malgré les restrictions budgétaires qui voient bien des actions de formation ou de conseil s'amenuiser au fil des ans, l'analyse des pratiques reste parmi les priorités dans les choix budgétaires, et ce n'est pas sans raison.

This edited volume, Social Work - Perspectives on Leadership and Organisation, presents a variety of perspectives and reflections from social work theories and practice on how to manage, lead and organize social work in different parts of the world. This volume collects some of the contributions presented at the Italian session of the International Social Work Education and Development Online (ISWED 2021) conference, jointly organised by the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW), and the International Council of Social Welfare (ICSW) and, for the Italian language sessions, by the National Foundation of Social Workers. Its aim is to contribute to the debate that was opened with the creation of the Global Agenda, an initiative taken by the three international organisations in the 2010/2020 decade and renewed for the 2020/2030 decade. In particular, the volume offers reflections on the role of social work in promoting human relations, justice and social solidarity, showing how research, training and professional practice can have an impact in translating the goals guiding the Global Agenda into practice. While the first eight chapters deal specifically with the Italian context and address different themes, such as social work in the face of social emergency, qualitative research as a means of reconstructing social action, perspectives in decision-making processes for the protection of minors, and reciprocity in the exchange between social work and the homeless, the agapic relationship in social work, the production of knowledge in the process of aid, and finally the practices of training in Italian universities, the ninth chapter is dedicated to a historical analysis of social service and training in the State of Espirito Santo in Brazil. Il volume raccoglie alcuni dei contributi presentati alla sessione italiana della conferenza International Social Work Education and Development Online (ISWED 2021). L'obiettivo è quello di contribuire al dibattito che si è aperto con la creazione dell'Agenda Globale, sul ruolo del servizio sociale per promuovere le relazioni umane, la giustizia e la solidarietà sociale, mostrando come la ricerca, la formazione e la pratica professionale possono avere un impatto nel tradurre in pratica gli obiettivi che guidano l'Agenda Globale.
