How do you hold your own at work if you do not yet have a good command of the Dutch language and are unfamiliar with Dutch customs and work culture? With the Werktaalkit, practically trained non-native speakers get a complete toolkit to guide them through their first steps in the Dutch labor market. With the Werktaalkit students work according to the requirements of the new integration. The lessons and practice reinforce each other. A bridge is immediately built between the classroom and everyday life. The student can thus participate more confidently and with more fun in the workplace situation. In Werktaalkit Schoonmaak, trainees are introduced to the cleaners Marco and Waleed. They follow their daily activities and conversations. In the practical lessons, with lots of images and audio and the handy e-learning to practice vocabulary extra, they learn vocabulary important for the work they do at an early stage (from A1). They also learn a lot about work organization and work culture in chapters on schedules, planning, working together, safety and rules, employment contract and performance appraisal.

Op verzoek van vele docenten is bij Boom NT2 'Van start' verschenen. Van Start is een methode zoals 'De opmaat', maar dan gericht op middenopgeleiden. De opzet is vergelijkbaar met die van De opmaat, maar de thema's en de oefeningen sluiten aan bij de anderstaligen die aan slag willen op mbo-niveau.

In Werktaalkit Horeca, you are introduced to Parisa and Joris, who both work in the catering industry. You follow their daily activities and conversations. In the practical lessons, with lots of images and audio and the handy e-learning for extra vocabulary practice, you learn vocabulary that is important for the work you do at an early stage (from A1 onwards). You will also learn a lot about work organisation and work culture in chapters on rosters, planning, working together, safety and rules, employment contract and performance appraisal.

Wind mee maakt onderdeel uit van een basismethode Nederlands als tweede taal voor volwassenen die in eenvoudige, gestructureerde stappen Nederlands willen leren. Wind mee is het vervolg van Klim op. De inhoud en manier van leren is het meest geschikt voor mensen die een praktisch beroep (willen) uitoefenen en voor NT2-leerders op mbo-niveau die meer herhaling nodig hebben voor het leren van de taal. Het startniveau is A1 en het eindniveau is A2.
In de tien thema’s van Wind mee leert de cursist doelgericht de basiswoordenschat en praktische taalhandelingen in alledaagse contexten. In het boek zijn de oefeningen geordend op vaardigheid: luisteren, (begrijpend) lezen, schrijven, (na)spreken en grammatica. De oefeningen zijn eenvoudig en door het steeds aanbieden op een verschillende manier wordt de woordenschat goed ingeslepen. Ieder thema sluit af met een dictee, een uitspraakoefening en een oefening met flashcards.
