Diese Edition umfasst Instruktionen, Ordnungen und andere schriftliche Regelungen aus der Verwaltung der Grundherrschaft des niederösterreichischen Augustiner-Chorherrenstiftes Klosterneuburg. Die gebotenen Normtexte decken einen Zeitraum vom frühen 16. Jahrhundert bis in die erste Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts ab. Die vielfältigen Regelungsmaterien umfassen die grundherrschaftliche Verwaltung und deren Aufbau, das Verhältnis zwischen der Grundherrschaft und ihren Untertanen, die Gerichtsbarkeit, die Land- und Forstwirtschaft inklusive dem Weinbau, die Versorgung und die Haushaltsführung des Klosters oder auch das Schiffstransportwesen auf der Donau. Durch die Breite der behandelten Themen eignet sich der der Quellenkorpus nicht nur für die Erforschung der grundherrschaftlichen Verwaltung im engeren Sinn, sondern auch für Fragen zur rechtlichen, sozialen und wirtschaftlichen "Lebenswelt" der untertänigen Bevölkerung in der Frühen Neuzeit.

The eighth volume of the Matricles of the University of Vienna covers the period from 1746/47 to 1777/78. It contains the continuation of the edition of the main register of the rectors of the University of Vienna, which was founded in 1377. It represents a first-class basis for research into the history of people and the history of institutions at the University of Vienna, as well as the social history of the world of scholars. The register of records at the University of Vienna contains the data of academic staff and students, a total of 13,265 people from a period of 32 years registered. The matriculation book also contains information on the regional and social origins of the university members. The critical edition is linked to a list of names of the rectors in office, as well as a name and location register.

The former private library of Emperor Franz I (known today as "Habsburg-Iothringische Fideikommissbibliothek",housed in the Austrian National Library) is an outstanding book and graphic collction due to both the considerable extent and the exquisiteness of its holdings. This analysis is concerned with the library as a knowledge and memoryinstitution; embedding its history in the political, social, intellectual and cultural contexts of the time. Die Privatbibliothek Kaiser Franz' 1., die spätere Habsburg-Lothringische Fideikommissbibliothek, gilt als ein hervorragendes Beispiel einer herrschaftlichen Buch- undGrafiksammlung, die in ihren Beständen weitgehend erhalten geblieben ist und heute von der Österreichischen Nationalbibliothek verwaltet wird. Die vorliegende Publikation bietet die erste wissenschaftliche, auf Quellenbasierende Rekonstruktion der Geschichte dieser Sammlung nach bibliotheksgeschichtlichen, ökonomischen, sozialen und kulturwissenschaftlichen Gesichtspunkten.

Die Familien-Fideikommissbibliothek des Hauses Habsburg-Lothringen ist aus der Privatbibliothek Kaiser Franz II./I. hervorgegangen, der seine Sammlung zu einem unteilbaren Erbe der Dynastie (Fideikommiss) erklärte. Infolge ihrer Vereinigung mit den Privatbibliotheken seiner Nachfolger und weiterer habsburgischer Bestände wurde sie zur Familienbibliothek der Dynastie schlechthin. Pläne, die Sammlung zu einem Habsburgermuseum und somit zu einem identitätsstiftenden Erinnerungsraum für die Dynastie und die Monarchie umzuwidmen, lagen auf der Hand, scheiterten jedoch schlussendlich an der Umsetzung. Stattdessen entwickelte sie sich zu einer wissenschaftlichen Bibliothek, die zunehmend durch die Allgemeinheit genutzt wurde. Dieser Strukturwandel zu einer Sammlung öffentlichen Charakters fand schließlich durch die Verstaatlichung nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg seinen Abschluss.
