However, in persons with intellectual disability, this has been taboo until recently. For some time, researchers have tried to analyse this area both in terms of theory and practical implementation. The monograph deals with partnerships, intimacy and sexuality of people with mental disabilities in the context of the latest knowledge and research results. "This book of reprinted articles from the journal "L'Anně Psychologique" as a whole constitutes a complete history and exposition of the Measuring Scale as Binet left it. In Chapter I the authors show the origin of the Scale and their first methods of attacking the problem. Chapter II describes the first results--a series of test questions arranged in order of difficulty but not yet assigned to definite years. An immense amount of work had been done on this series, and the authors may have been justly proud of what they had accomplished, though it was soon to be largely discarded for a much more useful plan. This was the so called "1905 Tests." Chapter III shows the laborious and painstaking methods of standardization. Nowhere does Binet more clearly show his genius. It is here that he has taught us the method which must be used in all extensions or revisions of the Scale, that lay any claim to scientific value. In Chapter IV he gives us the Measuring Scale for Intelligence--the so called 1908 Scale. It is the most complete statement of the Scale. Chapter V gives some of his later 1911 corrections and revisions--his last word on the subject. In making up this book we have attempted to include everything Binet and Simon wrote explanatory of the Scale. The reader will find many repetitions and some contradictions, and the date of each article should be taken into account in deciding which is the authoritative statement. It has been thought best to include all of these repetitions and contradictions, in order to show the development of Binet's own thought in regard to his Scale. "The Maze test has now been in use for almost twenty years. During that time it has been widely applied and considerable study has been devoted to its results. The reports of this work are, however, scattered through various publications, so that a comprehensive view of this accumulated experience is hardly possible. Yet at this time, when the instruments of mental diagnosis are being carefully scrutinized, such an inclusive survey is most desirable. Taking the opportunity afforded by a revision of the tests and their scoring and methods of application, I have gathered together in this volume a summary of all important studies in which the Maze test has been used. L'ouvrage offre une description poussée des déficiences intellectuelles, basée sur les réalités actuelles comme sur des données historiques et pluriculturelles, tout en apportant au lecteur un ensemble d'informations pratiques qui ont été entièrement actualisées, notamment celles concernant l'évolution des institutions en lien avec la législation, l'organisation des parcours et le vocabulaire. Par cette analyse précise, qui refuse de nier, d'éviter ou de réduire la déficience, l'auteur propose d'entrer dans une réflexion anthropologique et psychologique sur ce sujet dérangeant, y compris sous certains aspects peu abordés tels que la lecture ou la sexualité. Admettre que la déficience se définit comme un écart à la norme ne l'exclut pas de ce qui est humain mais, au contraire, permet de soutenir une position éthique.

Ce témoignage, nous en sommes convaincus, aidera de nombreuses personnes à franchir la porte d'un club de sport adapté.Marie-Christine Alibert est une sportive de la Fédération du Sport Adapté. Elle a écrit le récit de sa vie et surtout son espoir d'être un jour championne de France de judo, ce qu'elle n'a pu réaliser avec la FFJDA où elle était une sportive prometteuse. Elle a pu réaliser son rêve avec la FFSA en devenant championne de France toutes catégories Sport Adapté en 2010. Marie-Christine a toujours écrit des textes et des poèmes. L'idée d'un livre a germé en elle en 2012 avec l'aide d'une psychologue du SAMSAH APAJH d'Albi avec qui elle a construit son récit petit à petit. Elle est devenue membre du comité directeur du Sport Adapté du département du Tarn et membre du bureau. Elle a passé avec succès son diplôme AQSA sport adapté judo en 2016 et entraîne des personnes en situation de handicap psychique dans la résidence qui l'accueille. Marie-Christine est aussi engagée comme bénévole des restos du cœur. Elle a participé à plusieurs colloques fédéraux et régionaux à propos de la personne en situation de handicap psychique. Elle a aujourd'hui 56 ans et profite de son temps. Elle regarde avec humour son parcours, elle a acquis une certaine philosophie de la vie.
