The direct determination of elements in solid samples by atomspectrometric methods without prior digestion is in many cases more efficient and reliable, faster, easier, more cost-effective and less time-consuming than other methods. Most of the studies were carried out in the framework of the International Cooperative Program on Effects of Air Pollution on Natural Vegetation and Crops (ICP Vegetation) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
