Beloningsverschillen tussen mannen en vrouwen zijn al decennia vrijwel ongewijzigd: nog steeds verdienen mannen een aanzienlijk hoger loon dan vrouwen, ondanks de toegenomen arbeidsparticipatie, de hogere opleidingen van vrouwen en het gebruik van functiewaarderingssystemen. De vraag rijst dan ook hoe objectief deze systemen zijn. In deze bundel wordt verslag gedaan van de verschillende onderzoeken die in Nederland zijn verricht (zorgsector, politie, secretaressen en het bedrijfsleven) en van de veranderingen die recentelijk zijn doorgervoerd. Ook is er aandacht voor de juridische instrumenten die bruikbaar zijn om eventuele ongelijkheid in functiewaarderingssystemen aan te pakken, en voor recente Europese regelgeving op dit vlak.
