The first international monograph on this highly successful and innovative lighting design office Filling architecture with light, setting buildings in scene, generating spatial atmosphere: with undogmatic and flexible solutions the lighting design office Licht Kunst Licht in Berlin, founded by Andreas Schulz in 1992, develops lighting scenographies for museums, administrative and public buildings and private residences. The improvement of public lighting is an effective and economical way to enhance the attractiveness of urban downtown areas. Many cities in Germany and Europe have already recognized this fact and used master plans to create entirely new systems of urban lighting. Christoph Geissmar-Brandi, (b. 1958), Dr. phil., is an art historian, exhibition curator, and the author of many books in the field.

Au cours des dernières décennies, l'amélioration continue de l'efficacité énergétique dans les lampes a engendré la substitution de la lumière naturelle avec la lumière artificielle. La focalisation actuelle pour un plus grand respect de l'environnement, l'efficacité énergétique et le bien-être psychophysique de l'homme nous guide vers une nouvelle conception architecturale, vers une meilleure attention sur le contexte, en encourageant une bonne compréhension de la qualité de la lumière naturelle. Ce manuel vise à sensibiliser les lecteurs sur le principe que la lumière peut être un élément fondateur dans la conception architecturale, capable de modifier positivement l'expérience de l'habitant.
