La Liturgie des Gaules prend pour base l'explication de la messe rédigée dans ses deux Lettres par l'évêque Germain de Paris au VIe siècle. Le texte ici traduit est le récit illustré de cette messe célébrée en Gaule et dans les territoires francs durant les huit premiers siècles de l'Eglise une d'Orient et d'Occident, avant son interdiction en 754 par Pépin le Bref. Klaus Gamber (1919-1989), l'auteur de cette restitution liturgique, laisse derrière lui une oeuvre scientifi que de trois cents titres encore méconnus du public français. Son travail à la tête de l'Institut liturgique de Ratisbonne, son rôle décisif aux côtés du cardinal Ratzinger futur pape Benoît XVI, sa proximité de vue avec le cardinal Daniélou, mais aussi sa perception du caractère profondément orthodoxe de la Liturgie des Gaules, en forte convergence avec le travail parallèle de restauration du liturgiste russe Eugraph Kovalevsky (1905- 1970), témoignent de l'actualité brûlante de son oeuvre pour notre temps. Jouant un rôle clé dans le processus de réforme du rite romain et de restauration de la Liturgie des Gaules, le présent texte offre une contribution remarquable à la croissance de l'oecuménisme et de l'Orthodoxie en France et en Occident.

Un roman dahoméen revient sur deux expériences de collecte ethnographique dans un contexte colonial, au coeur du Dahomey (actuel Bénin) dans les années 1930. En se concentrant notamment sur la religion africaine appelée vodun, Valérie Perlès s'est intéressée au parcours de deux ethnologues, représentatifs chacun à leur manière de l'occupation française de ce territoire : l'un missionnaire, Francis Aupiais (1877-1945), l'autre administrateur, Bernard Maupoil (1906-1944). Au fil de leurs séjours, ils partagent tous deux le constat d'un effacement irrémédiable de la culture vodun sous l'influence d'une colonisation qui impose de nouvelles valeurs. Tous deux militent pour la sauvegarde de ce patrimoine culturel et religieux à leurs yeux inestimable ; pour autant, les solutions qu'ils proposent sont radicalement différentes. En revenant sur cet épisode de l'histoire, Un roman dahoméen interroge les conditions du travail de terrain dans un contexte de professionnalisation de l'ethnologie et la valorisation du patrimoine colonial par les institutions françaises. Analysant ainsi les données collectées, Valérie Perlès questionne les relations nouées avec les élites locales et l'engagement du chercheur face à son objet.

Fierce Climate, Sacred Ground is an ethnographic account of the impacts of climate change in Shishmaref, Alaska. In this small Iupiaq community, flooding and erosion are forcing community members to consider relocation as the only possible solution for long-term safety. However, a tangled web of policy obstacles, lack of funding, and organizational challenges leaves the community without a clear way forward, creating serious questions of how to maintain cultural identity under the new climate regime. Elizabeth Marino analyzes this unique and grounded example of a warming world as a confluence of political injustice, histories of colonialism, global climate change, and contemporary development decisions. The book merges theoretical insights from disaster studies, political analysis, and passages from field notes into an eminently readable text for a wide audience. This is an ethnography of climate change; a glimpse into the lived experiences of a global phenomenon.
