Long description: In the next decades, power electronic system development will be driven by energy saving systems, intelligent energy management, power quality, system miniaturization and high reliability. Monolithic and hybrid system integration will include advanced device concepts including wide bandgap devices, new packaging technologies and the overall integration of actuators/drives (mechatronic integration). CIPS is consequently focused on the following main aspects: - assembly and interconnect technology for power electronic devices and converters - integration of hybrid systems and mechatronic systems with high power density - systems and components operational behaviour and reliability Basic technologies for integrated power electronic systems as well as upcoming new im-portant applications will be presented in interdisciplinary invited papers. In 2020 the successful story of CIPS will continue as the conference focus is today more important than ever - increasing functionality, energy efficiency and system reliability while decreasing cost. Mit der steigenden Bedeutung des Kraftstoffverbrauchs von Fahrzeugen geriet in den letzten Jahren auch die elektrische Leistungsaufnahme eines Fahrzeugs in den Blickpunkt. Diese ist durch den Zuwachs von Umfang und Komplexität von automobilen Elektrik/Elektronik-Systemen über die letzten Fahrzeuggenerationen hinweg stark angestiegen. Die vorliegende Arbeit befasst sich daher mit Ansätzen zur Energieoptimierung automobiler Elektrik/Elektronik-Architekturen aus Sicht eines Fahrzeugherstellers.

Aufgrund der zunehmenden Verknappung von Rohstoffen und der Emissionen klimarelevanter Gase, wurden in den letzten Jahren verstärkte Anstrengungen zur effizienten Nutzung von Ressourcen und Energie in der Eisen-, Stahl- und Zinkindustrie unternommen. Zielsetzung dieses Forschungsvorhabens ist die Untersuchung der Auswirkung von internen und externen Verwertungsmaßnahmen zur Steigerung der Ressourceneffizienz unter Beachtung der Energieeffizienz, CO2-Emissionen und Wirtschaftlichkeit.

Long description: The PESS 2020 continues the long series of previous editions of this conference at other universities all over Germany. It has always been a technical conference which is especially suitable for students in the field of electrical power engineering. The conference provides an excellent opportunity to gain first experiences in writing and publishing a scientific paper. Additionally, we offer authors the chance to present their research in front of a professional audience and get involved in discussions with experts. The conference is supervised by well-established researchers and experts and consists of an engaging program with networking and social interaction. This year’s conference program comprises 46 contributed papers covering current research topics in the different areas of Power Systems and High-Voltage applications. The conference is jointly organized by the department Electrical Power Supply with Integration of Renewable Energies (E5) at TU Darmstadt and the Cigré Young Energy Net and supported by IEEE PES, VDE-Verlag and the division of future energy systems of TU Darmstadt.

Within this work, it is investigated under which conditions constant pressure systems with secondary controlled drives may be an energetic efficient and cost effective alternative to established mobile hydraulic circuit configurations. For this purpose, a methodology is introduced to evaluate chances and risks at employment of this technology in mobile machines. A demonstrator with three secondary controlled variable displacement drives is developed to confirm the results of the methodology.

The most important drivers of driver assistance systems are improving driving safety and energy efficiency. In many cases, energy-efficient driving also implies a safe driving technique. In some cases, however, energy-efficient driving can lead to a decline in driving safety. This work therefore investigates whether an energy-efficient driving style by the forward vehicle leads to a decline in driving safety.

In this book a methodology for the evaluation of energy efficiency of mobile working machines by simulation is presented. It allows an efficiency analysis and systematic optimization of a single power train as well as a comparison of different power train concepts. The methodology is applied to a wheeled excavator. To ensure a realistic power demand in the simulation, a rule-based operator model is developed.

The drive line of the working equipment of mobile machines is mainly composed of fluid power systems. Electro-hydraulic components facilitate the development of innovative Flow-on-Demand hydraulics. In these systems the oil flow of the pump is derived from the consumer requests and directly set in an open-loop control. Principle related power dissipation is reduced. Additionally, faster system response improves machine operability and ease of use.

This work investigates the optimization of bipedal robots’ energy efficiency by using elastic couplings. The regarded robots are modeled as underactuated systems and controlled by input-output linearization. To investigate the influence of elastic couplings on energy efficiency as well as stability and robustness the movements of the robots as well as their elastic couplings are simultaneously optimized using numerical algorithms.

Welche Bedeutung hat die Digitalisierung für die Aus- und Fortbildung in den elektro-, informations-, metall- und fahrzeugtechnischen Berufen? Der Einsatz digitaler Technik führt hier zu starken Veränderungen der Tätigkeiten und Arbeitsabläufe. Gleichzeitig sind die Beschäftigten dieser Berufe durch die Verwendung und Herstellung digital innovativer Produkte im besonderen Maße Mitgestaltende dieser Veränderungen. Der vorliegende Sammelband ist in drei Teile gegliedert. Im Abschnitt zur ressourcenfo-kussierten Facharbeit geht es um die Gestaltung nachhaltiger Produktions-, Service- und Reparaturprozesse: Wie kann digitale Technik genutzt werden, um ressourcenschonend und -effizient zu arbeiten? Unter dem Stichwort "Smartes Lernen" diskutieren die Autorinnen und Autoren das Gelingen der didaktischen Transformation und neue Unterrichtsmethoden für gewerblich-technische Schulen. Im Weiterem beschäftigt sich der Band mit der Informatik als Querschnittsdisziplin sämtlicher Digitalisierungsprozesse: Wie kann informatische Bildung in der beruflichen Aus- und Fortbildung gestaltet werden, obwohl Informatik kein verbindliches Schulfach ist? Dieser Sammelband enthält Beiträge der 29. Fachtagung der BAG Elektrotechnik, Informationstechnik, Metalltechnik, Fahrzeugtechnik 2019 im Rahmen der Hochschultage Berufliche Bildung (HTBB) in Siegen.
