Dit boek biedt een inleiding in de simulatie van analoge en digitale schakelingen met behulp van het populaire programma PSpice van MicroSim. De auteurs beschrijven hoe de syntax van de schakeling is opgebouwd en welke onderzoeksmogelijkheden ter beschikking staan. Ook geven zij alle aanwijzingen voor het vinden van een juiste interpretatie van de resultaten van een simulatie. Aan de hand van een groot aantal voorbeelden uit de analoge en digitale techniek wordt toegelicht hoe een simulatie kan worden uitgevoerd. Tevens wordt aangegeven welke problemen zich daarbij kunnen voordoen. Voor diodes, bipolaire transistors, JFET's en MOSFET's wordt aangegeven hoe bij de simulatie gebruik kan worden gemaakt van de modelparameters die te vinden zijn op de datasheets. Daarnaast wordt aan de hand van voorbeelden uit de mechanica en audiowereld aangetoond dat met PSpice ook simulaties op andere gebieden dan de elektronica kunnen worden uitgevoerd. Dit boek gaat ervan uit dat gewerkt wordt met versie 6.3 van PSpice; dit programma werkt onder Windows 3.1 en Windows 95.
