Welche Relevanz hat Geschlecht als strukturierendes und strukturiertes Merkmal innerhalb der gegenwärtigen Verhältnisse? Die AutorInnen - unzufrieden mit dem wissenschaftlichen Status quo - beleben diese Diskussion und führen sie in neue Gedankenregionen. Der Begriff der Struktur verweist auf gesellschaftliche Verhältnisse und Institutionen und lenkt den Fokus auf Ungleichheitslagen, immer in Bezug auf gesellschaftliche und institutionelle (Geschlechter-)Verhältnisse. Dahingehend bezieht sich der Begriff des Subjektes auf Handlungen und nimmt damit stärker die Individuen in den Blick. Essenzielle Frage dabei ist: Welche Relevanz hat Ge - schlecht als strukturierendes und strukturiertes Merkmal innerhalb der aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Verhältnisse, Strukturen und Normen? Neben theoretischen Beiträgen zu bereits etablierten subjekt- und strukturtheoretischen Überlegungen konzentrieren sich andere AutorInnen auf forschungspraktische Wendungen der Theoriekonzepte konzentrieren. Der Band hat den Anspruch, eine dialektische Verschränkung von individuellen und gesellschaftlichen Strukturierungsprozessen in Bezug auf Geschlecht zu erfassen. What relevance does gender have as a structuring and structured characteristic within the present circumstances? The authors - dissatisfied with the scientific state of the art - animate this discussion and lead it into new regions of thought. The concept of structure refers to social relations and institutions and focuses on inequalities, always in relation to social and institutional (gender) relations. To this end, the concept of the subject refers to actions and thus focuses more on individuals. The essential question here is: What relevance does gender have as a structuring and structured characteristic within current social conditions, structures and norms? In addition to theoretical contributions to already established subject- and structure-theoretical considerations, other authors concentrate on research-practical turns of the theoretical concepts. This volume aims to capture a dialectical interweaving of individual and social structuring processes in relation to gender.
