Long description: Sei du selbst ist heute das Motto in vielen Organisationen. Mitarbeiter sollen sich entfalten, um ihr Bestes einzubringen. Doch verhält man sich bei der Arbeit überhaupt wie man selbst? Schließlich bewegt man sich hier stets im Umfeld seiner Arbeitsgruppe und Führungskraft. In einer systematischen Analyse geht die Arbeit diesem Zusammenhang nach. Grundlage dafür bilden die individuellen Werte, also das, was einem Menschen im Leben wichtig ist. In einer großen Studie mit Lehrstuhlarbeitsgruppen aus ganz Deutschland wird untersucht, ob Werte auch in Arbeitsgruppen das Verhalten ihrer Mitglieder leiten und inwiefern der soziale Kontext, bestehend aus den Werten der Führungskraft und der Gruppe dies beeinflussen. Da bislang kaum erforscht, liegt ein Fokus auf der Wirkung von Wertediskrepanz, also der Unähnlichkeit zum Gegenüber. Besonders ist, dass nicht ein einzelner Wert untersucht wird, sondern die Wirkung von Werten in ihrer Gesamtheit. Dadurch können Erkenntnisse zu generischen Erklärungsansätzen gewonnen werden, wie zum vielfach implizierten normativen Druck. Damit leistet die Arbeit einen wichtigen Beitrag zum Verständnis der Wertewirkung im sozialen Gefüge und bietet neue Einblicke in die wenig erforschten Felder des Person-Group und Person-Supervisor Misfit.
