Abstract

Der Band widmet sich der Aktualität eines der bedeutendsten Briefe der Psychoanalyse. Sigmund Freud berichtet Wilhelm Fließ am 6.12.1896 in einem bemerkenswerten thematischen Rundumschlag seine neuesten Vorstellungen vom psychischen Apparat, deren Wirkung offenbar aber erst von späteren Generationen entfaltet werden konnte. Die Beiträge des Bandes bewegen sich im Spannungsfeld von Schrift, Körper und Tradierung - das sowohl im Inhalt wie im Kontext und der Geschichte des Briefes angelegt ist. Sie nehmen den Brief aus verschiedenen Perspektiven zum gemeinsamen Ausgangs- und Fluchtpunkt und analysieren dessen bis heute ungebrochene (Nach-)Wirkung.

Abstract

Beginning with Jung's earliest correspondence to associates of the psychoanalytic period and ending shortly before his death, the 935 letters selected for these two volumes offer a running commentary on his creativity. The recipients of the letters include Mircea Eliade, Sigmund Freud, Esther Harding, James Joyce, Karl Kernyi, Erich Neumann, Maud Oakes, Herbert Read, Upton Sinclair, and Father Victor White.
