Dans Le dîner de Gulliver, Lilian Bourgeat offre un repas dans lequel tables, chaises, verres, couverts et mets sont étonnement grands. Les convives assemblés se livrent ainsi à des libations toutes rabelaisiennes. L'ouvrage témoigne de ce moment, les photographies du dîner composent le déroulé du livre. Les images d'autres œuvres de l'artiste relevant d'un principe analogue ponctuent le dîner, elles sont comme des apparitions improbables, peut-être issues des rêveries éthyliques des convives. Le texte de Pascal Beausse soulignant les enjeux de l'agrandissement en art fait office, au centre du livre, de trou normand. - Lilian Bourgeat (né en 1970, vit et travaille à Dijon) réalise des installations composées d'éléments surdimensionnés issus du quotidien. Ainsi dépossédés de leur caractère usuel et familier, acquérant une nouvelle autonomie et bousculant les rapports d'échelle, ces objets surréalistes géants constituent une expérience singulière et déstabilisante pour le public sollicité à intervenir.

“Contrapposto” refers to a pose in which the human subject is turned slightly so that the bust is positioned off-axis from the lower body. American artist Bruce Nauman (born 1941) explores this ancient artistic concept with his most recent project, in which he revisits his 1968 video piece Walk with Contrapposto that depicts the artist’s attempt to hold the classic pose as he walks down a narrow corridor. Nauman uses today’s digital manipulation technologies to build upon this early work in an entirely new context, questioning the representation of human movement and human stillness throughout history. This volume, designed by London-based graphics studio Zak Group, presents documentation of Nauman’s Contrapposto series from 2015 to 2019 as well as the original video, with new essays that extrapolate upon Nauman’s use of space and performance throughout his career.

Follow Me is the title of Susan Philipsz's new solo show. Set in the historical centre of Genova, the exhibition presents a new work inspired by the yatch Elettra, Guglielmo Marconi's floating laboratory, together with a selection of six works realized between 1999 and 2011. Among the most significant artist of her generation, Philipsz (Glasgow,1965) creates sound installations (recordings of the artist's own voice as she sings existing songs a cappella) that explore the psychological and sculptural potential of sound. In Genova, the artist traces a captivating itinerary that unfolds within the architectural framework of Palazzi dei Rolli - in- cluded in the Unesco World Heritage List - and other historical buildings, along which she explores the relationship between art and architecture, the subtle shifts in the public perception of the artwork, the relation between performance and sculpture, and the emotional effect of sound.

Deuxième d’une série de trois volumes d’entretiens retraçant l’histoire de la vidéo à travers artpress, L’art vidéo 2. Entre cinéma et installation revient sur les années 1990-2000. Elles furent marquées par le tournant cinématographique de la vidéo. On ne parle alors plus de vidéo mais d’un “autre cinéma” ou de “cinéma d’exposition”. Douglas Gordon et Pierre Huyghe commencent par déconstruire les films existants quand d’autres en reprennent librement les caractéristiques. La vidéo achève sa spatialisation sous la forme d’installations et Eija-Liisa Ahtila ou Doug Aitken tirent parti, à des fins narratives et temporelles, sensorielles et cognitives, de la multiplication des écrans et confèrent au spectateur le rôle de monteur.
