The South Asia Multidisciplinary Academic Journal (SAMAJ) is a double-blind, peer-reviewed journal devoted to research in the social sciences and humanities on South Asia. It specializes in the publication of comparative thematic issues as well as individual research articles, review essays, and book reviews. Committed to disseminating rigorous scientific research to the widest possible audience, SAMAJ is fully and freely accessible on line. SAMAJ receives institutional support from the Centre d’Etudes de l’Inde et de l’Asie du Sud (CEIAS) and has a partnership with the European Association for South Asian Studies (EASAS) since 2011.

Der Band unternimmt eine theoretisch-methodologische Grundlegung der Beziehungen zwischen Literatur und Naturwissenschaft. Er verbindet kultursemiotische, narratologische und wissenschaftsphilosophische Ansätze und erweitert die Bandbreite vorliegender Perspektiven zum Konnex 'Literatur und Wissenschaft' um einen neuen Zugang: den der zeichen- und erzähltheoretisch informierten und physiktheoretisch refl ektierten Interformation. Untersucht werden Texte von E.T.A. Hoffmann bis Durs Grünbein, von Johannes Kepler bis Albert Einstein. This volume establishes theoretical and methodological principles on the relationship between literature and science. It combines approaches from the fields of cultural semiotics, narratology, and the philosophy of science, and supplements the range of existing approaches toward the nexus of literature and knowledge with a new approach, that of interformation, informed by semiotic and narrative theory, and reflecting on the theory of physics.

Ce livre présente, de façon systématique, le renouveau qu'ont connu l'histoire et l'étude des sciences (les Science Studies) depuis trente ans. Mettant en garde contre les batailles faciles et de peu d'intérêt entre " rationalistes " et " relativistes ", Dominique Pestre nous introduit à la complexité des problèmes qui ont été soulevés et qui restent sans solutions simples. Montrant en quoi ce renouveau n'est pas propre à l'histoire et à l'étude des sciences, mais qu'il est vrai de l'ensemble des sciences sociales, il en étudie les conséquences.
